Wheeling Transaction based on selection of IPP in a Deregulated Environment

Abstract
Selection of Independent Power Producer (IPP) involves decision on location and maximum capacity of new generation in the existing system. A New Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization (HPSO) with Cauchy mutation on the best particle has been utilized to determine the connecting point and the appropriate maximum capacity of IPP to the existing systems with the support of AC-optimal power flow (OPF) for IEEE 30-bus system and New England 39 bus utility systems. In addition, optimal wheeling transaction is evaluated based on Maximum IPP. This may encounter congestion in the transmission line and load curtailment technique is employed to relieve transmission congestion
