PITCH ANGLE CONTROL FOR VARIABLE SPEED WIND TURBINES WITH DOUBLY FED INDUCTION GENERATORS
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, we focus mainly on controlling the aerodynamic power collected by the turbine. The goal is to limit this power when the wind speed becomes too high. We demonstrate the importance and influence of the pitch angle on the performance of a variable speed wind turbines based on Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG).This ingenious device uses the pitch variation primarily as a means of power control which increases with the cube of the wind speed. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is evaluated by simulation results.
