Maximum Power Control for Photovoltaic Power based on Fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno Model

Abstract
This paper deals with an intelligent control method for the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of a photovoltaic system under variable temperature and radiation conditions. The MPPT is based on the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model approach. A DC/DC buck converter has been connected between the photovoltaic panel and the load to regulate the output power of the PV panel array. A fuzzy MPPT controller based on TS fuzzy model is proposed in which controller gains are obtained by solving Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). Numerical simulations are presented and compared to other types of control to check the performance of this type of control.
