Abstract

DC-DC converters are some of the most widely used power electronics devices for their high conversion efficiency and versatility. Many control methods were developed for DC-DC converters control mostly with asymptotic convergence. Sliding mode control is a proven robust control approach and will be used here in an effort to achieve finite time convergence. Furthermore a PSO algorithm will be used to optimize controller parameters using an ITAE criterion. Simulation of terminal sliding mode control of a DC-DC converter is carried out for different operating conditions and results compared to classic sliding mode control.
