Abstract
EE-VERT (Energy Efficient Vehicles for Road Transport) is a project funded under the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. In particular EE-VERT targets a 10-12% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 generation of a conventional vehicle. EE-VERT is seeking to develop marketable energy saving technologies with an attractive cost-benefit ratio that have the potential for rapid launch and market penetration to bridge the gap between standard conventional vehicles and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Full Electric Vehicles (EVs) respectively. This paper will describe the system approach of EE-VERT, the component performances and will furthermore report about the progress in assembling a demonstrator vehicle.
