Abstract
In this work a comparison between control and Nonlinear Model Predictive Control is carried out for controlling the steering system of automated ground vehicles. A rigorous analysis between the performances of the two controllers is given, presenting advantages and drawbacks of each method, using simulation results. A detailed description of the design approaches is also given.
