Abstract

In this paper, the effect of wind power on the transient fault behaviour of the power system is investigated. The current and future wind power situation is modelled as two cases and short circuit faults in the system are simulated. The simulations yield information on (i) how the faults impact on the wind turbines and (ii) how the response of the wind turbines influences the post-fault behaviour of the power system. Here, we attempted to compare the impact, in terms of voltages, active and reactive power, of adding wind turbines into electrical power grid.
