Abstract
A novel Fuzzy logic based adaptation mechanism is proposed to replace the conventional PI controller used in the rotor flux based model reference adaptive system (MRAS). Such adaptive system works satisfactorily in all four quadrants of operation. A detailed comparison between the classical and new schemes is done in closed loop sensorless mode of operation. Computer simulation study is carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Superior dynamic performance is observed using proposed Fuzzy logic controller based speed estimator.
