Abstract:
All equipments will deteriorate with respect to time .Once the timing and causes of equipment failure is known , action can be taken to prevent the failure and hence the life time of the equipment can be increased .In this context, we analyses various parameters ,e.g- pressure ,temperature, vibration ,flow etc by collecting data and trended towards certain direction following certain methodologies . In this way we can get certain indication about the system, about the equipment health ,performance integrity(strength) and provides information for scheduling timely correction action . In this way the reliability of the equipment can remain high . This paper presents a survey on various condition monitoring approaches of transformer along with various practical case studies based on various site visits . It is shown with case studies and examples how health is assessed and precautions can be taken to increase its life time .
